Player Pathway & Junior Bursary

Our aim is to introduce Juniors to the game of golf in a stimulating and enjoyable way.  We are committed to providing a safe and friendly environment where juniors can develop their golfing skill.  We encourage friendship, respect for others and playing in the right spirit of the game.  We provide social and competitive golf for juniors for integration into adult golf.

Development Squads

  • Divisions to include those with handicaps approx. 25 – 40 and 40-54 
  • Age range 7 – 15 
  • Skills based coaching sessions – chipping, putting, bunker play 
  • 5 x 2 hour coaching sessions 
  • 5 Tour events 
  • As the Juniors join clubs and progress their handicaps they will be invited up to the County Match Squad. 

County Match Squad

  • Handicap: Plus to approx. 25 
  • Players should have personal coach 
  • Players must be available for selection and practice rounds  
  • 5 x Coaching days per year 
  • Practice round at Junior County Match Day Venue  
  • Match against the Committee  
  • Order of Merit Events 


The Junior Bursary

On successful application, the Daphnne Haddock Fund makes available a junior bursary to support the development of promising junior girls in CHWGL
