Congratulations to our new County Champion for 2025 Tabitha Brain - Links, Newmarket
The County Championships were held over two days last weekend at Links – Newmarket.
Saturday 17th May saw an early start at 8am with the first three players of the 27 entrants tee off for a stroke play round. The top 8 gross score players progressed to the afternoon match-play quarter finals these were:-

Tammini Hurst St Ives
The quarter finals were played in great spirit and saw Tabitha succeeding over Tammini on the 22nd hole, Marcella won against Helen, Jackie won against Rosemary and Sarah
won a close fought game against Emma. This meant the semi finalists were all members from Links!!
Unfortunately records no longer exist to see if four players from the same club have competed in the semi-finals before......Unless anyone knows differently??……..
Sunday 18th May - again an early start with the first semi final teeing off at 8am. It was between Tabitha and Sarah, followed by Marcella and Jackie. The first semi final was nip and tuck with Tabitha coming out on top. Marcella won her semi final against Jackie
The afternoon final was close. On the front nine both players had had a lead at some point, Tabitha, then Marcella, with Tabitha 1 up at the turn. The back nine saw Marcella win
two holes, Tabitha 1 and the remaining six were halved. So, all square after the 18th and off down the 19th which saw Tabitha succeed. Both players gave it their all.
Well done to both Tabitha and Marcella for reaching the final, and to the other 25 who entered Cambs and Hunts Womens Golf Championship, contributing to a highly successful weekend of golf.
